Sanding Sealer – Water Based
For interior Use

A waterbased fast drying sanding sealer designed with special resins to replace traditional two component solvent systems.

Is especially suited for preparing furniture and other wooden surfaces which will be topcoated with 422/423 STAYS CLEAR Acrylic Polyurethane. Polyurethane it’s low odor provides for pleasant application. It features good penetration and easy sanding.

Can be tinted to produce colors using Benjamin Moore’s Woodstain color card.

Spreading Rate : 10 – 12 m2/ l depending on wood porocity
Dry Time at 20°C : 30 minutes to touch, 2 – 3 hours to recoat
Thinning : Do not thin
For application by : Brush, roller, spray

VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds): 092 Moorwood Sanding Sealer: belongs to the category A/f WB (Interior and Exterior minimal build woodstains). EU Limit: 130g/l (2010). This product contains max 80g/l VOC.

Surface Preparation

  • Surface must be clean, dry and free of dirt, oil or grease.
  • Completely remove old or poorly adhering varnish and paint to expose new wood.
  • Surfaces must be sanded and remove dust. On tropical wood wash down with nitro thinner to remove resins that may lenghten dry times.
  • If mildew is evident it must be removed by scrubbing with a commercial mildew wash, following manufacturers direction and cautions.

Application

  • Stir thoroughly before and during use. Apply without thinning 1 or 2 coats by brush, roller or spray.
  • Sand lighty between coats with fine sandpaper.
  • Finish with 2 or 3 coats of 422/423 STAYS CLEAR Acrylic Polyourethane.
  • Dry sanding, cleaning with strongs sovents of dry paint film, will give exposure to dust and/or hazardous fumes.
  • Wet sanding should be used wherever possible.
  • If exposure cannot be avoided by the provision of local exhaust ventilation, suitable respiratory protective equipment should be used.
  • Do not apply when temperature is below 10°C.
  • Drying times are longer in cool/moist conditions.
  • Cleaning equipment: Clean equipment in warm, soapy water

Notice: Uneven gloss might show on film if applied when high humidity is present, which disappears in time.
